Introduction to Judith Mosley, our upcoming chat guest for February. I first met Judith Mosley three and a half years ago 'virtually' through the Adoptive Parents of Vietnam (APV) newsgroup. I was in the process of my independent (non-agency assisted) adoption from Vietnam, and Judith provided me with invaluable information and support on my personal adoption journey. Judith has seven children, two biological and five through international adoption: a son from Sierra Leone, a daughter from Cambodia and three more daughters from Vietnam. Judith is no stranger to corruption and unethical practices in adoption. She has said that only one of her adoption journeys was free from the taint of fraudulent or alleged fraudulent practices, and she has been a vocal spokesperson for adoption ethics and tireless in her determination that those perpetrating such behavior are brought to justice. Judith's daughter, Camryn (now 14), from Cambodia, recently testified at the trial of Lauryn Galindo (see the Galindo trial summary). I admire greatly their courage and the personal sacrifices they have made in the cause of making the world community of adoption a more open and honest one. We have a long way to go, and it is a journey that can only be made one step at a time. Please be involved and be informed. Make sure that your representatives and legislators know who you are. (Don't know who they are or where to start? Enter your zip codes/states at these sites and find out who your Congressmen or Senators are) Be a source of information for them and let them know the issues that are important to you.
